On Sunday the 22nd of April 2018, Kabul became the target of yet another bomb blast. In an attack claimed by the Islamic State, more than 60 people have been killed and more than a 100 injured. The attack carried out by a suicide bomber targeted dozens of civilians who were queuing to receive national identification cards outside a voter registration centre in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The horrific attack took place in Dasht-e-Barchi, a predominantly Shia Hazara neighbourhood. Hazaras are an ethnic and religious minority in Afghanistan, who have experienced a history of persecution and continue to remain a target. Families stepped out to participate in the registration process for the upcoming legislative elections hoping to contribute toward a better future for the country. Unfortunately, many were left grieving the loss of their loved ones and witnessing their hopes drowning in blood. Many have lost their breadwinners and many more are left with wounded members of their families that require urgent medical and financial assistance. Let’s unite in their grief and support the survivors in whatever capacity possible.
Please donate to help the victims of this horrific attack
Please donate as much or as little as you can to help the victims of this tragic attack. All contributions will go directly towards the cause, and to ensure the transparency of the process, a report will be published. Baba Mazari Foundation, through its charitable trust, will oversee the use of funds.
With the lack of primary healthcare service and financial resources in Afghanistan the victims are in urgent need of medical care and support. Most of the victims can’t afford to pay for their treatment. For example, the family of Zahra who only returned to Afghanistan three days ago and now she is severely injured along with his father and mother and her younger sister Hania was killed in the attack.
The money we raise will be used for medical treatment of the victims such as Zahra as well helping them with food and shelter. The money raised will be sent to our trustworthy representative in Kabul, Afghanistan which will then be distributed to the victims to pay for their medical treatment. In most cases we will deal with the hospitals directly to pay for the medical bills of these victims. BMF will provide all the evidence and reports to all our donors via email.
